Every angler has their joyous fishing stories

We never forget the best times we shared with family and friends in our fishing journeys, places we fished in that maybe we never had the chance to visit, the fishes we caught, people we met their, natural views and fresh air we enjoyed.

For many of us, fishing is not only a sport or a Hobie, but it’s also a way of life. It helps us escape from life stress, daily routine and it clears our minds to be after all more productive at our works.

Fishing is among the most popular recreational outdoor activities, practiced by millions of people around the world and doesn’t require much money at all to get started.

What types of fishing you are practicing?

Let’s talk a little about some popular fishing types and methods.

Fly fishing is a well-known fishing technique in the USA and can be practiced in both fresh and salt waters, it demands a fly rod/reel, weighted fly line, and artificial flies that imitate natural insects.

Surfcast fishing is mostly done in saltwater from beaches and needs a special surfcast fishing rod, reel and the use of bait or lures. It’s an easy fishing method to learn.

Spearfishing consists of diving to where fish live and catching them by the use of a speargun. The big advantage of this fishing method is targeting and hunting the species and fish sizes you desire on. These are the essential gears you need, a speargun, wetsuit, mask and snorkel, gloves, booties, freediving fins, weight belt, and a spearfishing knife. It’s recommended to be accompanied by other spearos to help you if you encounter any risks or difficulties underwater.

Spin fishing or spinning by casting a lure and retrieving it in a defined speed, to make it swim and looks like a natural small fish. You need a spinning rod & reel combo designed specially for this type of fishing.

Jigging is a technique consisting to descend a jig which is a type of lure in deep-water, where fishes exist and making small upwards movements by the rod to imitate an injured fish, which will be seen like easy prey. This method is effective from boat, kayak or shores near to deep-waters. Using a fish finder device will help you find the right deep where to jig. For more information about vertical jigging, you can watch this seminar.

Catch more fish by following these simple tips

How to be a better angler? We always ask ourselves this question, especially when we see someone taking a good catch. Those easy advice to follow will surely help you achieve that goal.

Every single action or decision made by a successful angler is based on his fishing knowledge obtained from different sources.

Ask questions to your fishing tackle retailer: they know very well the best fishing spots in the area, the fish species that are around, what tackles work better.

Read fishing reports written by anglers, this will help you program your fishing journey before leaving home.

Fish with friends and take advantage of their fishing skills & techniques.

Book a guide and benefice from years of experience.

Read fishing posts on the Internet, books/ebooks, watch fishing videos and tv programs.

Practice what you have learned.

Fisheries conservation for sustainable fishing

We have a special category here in fishingwindow, which gathers fishing development topics, like scientific researches, pollution combat, fish plantation, awareness campaigns, violations, new fishing regulations, conservation awards, etc.

Anglers and fishery conservation organizations around the world, need to benefit from experiences of each other in that field, to save fsheries for us and future generations.

These are some of popular fisheries conservation organizations: NOAA Fisheries, Trout Unlimited, FAO, NASCO, ISSF.
